The Brooklyn Nets have revealed their 2026-27 Classic Edition uniform and a dedicated special-edition court to celebrate the franchise's 60th season. Both will make their debut at Barclays Center on Wednesday, October 21, when the Nets host the Charlotte Hornets in the home opener. This launch comes as the team wraps up its preseason schedule, which included a 144-128 loss to the Miami Heat on October 14.

The Classic Edition uniform is a red, white, and blue design that directly references the team's ABA origins. It reimagines the franchise's original identity, connecting its 1970s roots to the present day. The jersey will be available for fans to buy starting Monday, October 19, both online and at Brooklyn Fanatics stores.

Accompanying the jersey is a unique court that acts as a visual timeline. The center court features the 60th season logo, while the sideline displays a composite logo made from past team branding. More than 575 players who have ever worn a Nets jersey have their names printed along the court apron. The baseline also marks the 50th anniversary of the 1976 ABA-NBA merger, a key moment in league history.

As one of only four teams to join the NBA through the ABA merger, the Nets hold a special place in basketball history. Becky Kimbro, Senior Vice President of Marketing for Brooklyn Sports & Entertainment, said the anniversary is a chance to celebrate every era. "These elements honor where we have been while continuing to write the next chapter of Nets basketball in Brooklyn," Kimbro explained. The uniform and court are designed to give fans a tangible link to the team's past, from its New Jersey days to its current home.

The October 21 game against Charlotte will feature a full celebration. Fans will see an original show with custom LED screens, performances by the Brooklynettes and Team Hype, and 360-degree player footage powered by Alibaba technology. Alibaba, the team's Official Technology and Cloud Partner, will also introduce a Real-Time 360º Replay system and an in-arena "Nets Figure Lab" for creating personalized digital collectibles.

Looking at the bigger picture, the 60th season celebration extends far beyond one night. The team will host "Eras Nights," a six-game series highlighting different chapters of Nets history with era-specific entertainment and alumni appearances. "Nets Unite" games will spotlight Brooklyn's diverse communities, and community initiatives like Nets Fest will connect the team with fans across the borough. The popular lower-bowl fan section, The Block, is also returning to Barclays Center.

While the focus is on history, the current team is preparing for the real action. Their preseason concluded with mixed results, including a 122-131 win over the Washington Wizards on October 12 and a 114-108 victory against the Philadelphia 76ers on October 8. Now, all attention turns to the regular season and building a new chapter in that six-decade legacy.
